Dimuth Karunaratne (55*) and Kusal Mendis (61*) showed some fight in the second innings after Sri Lanka were bundled out for 183 in the first innings against India.

Sri Lanka trail by 321 runs and would want their settled batsmen to continue for a long time as they face an innings defeat scare in the second Test in Colombo.

Earlier, Indian bowlers wreaked havoc as Sri Lanka were bowled out for 183 in the first innings. Ashwin was the pick of the bowlers as he finished with 5/69 and earned his 26th five-wicket haul.

With the ball taking quite a bit of turn, the Sri Lankan batsmen found the going hard against the guile of India's spin twins -- Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja.

Ashwin first sent Upul Tharanga packing for a duck in the second over and then struck again to dismiss Dimuth Karunaratne for 25.

Captain Dinesh Chandimal (8*) and Kusal Mendis (16*) were the two unbeaten Sri Lanka batsmen when play ended on Day 2.
