The Department of Telecom will soon seek details of alleged subscriber data breach of Reliance Jio, a top official said today.

There were reports on Sunday which claimed that customer data, including mobile numbers and other details of Reliance Jio users, were allegedly leaked on an independent website.

The company has filed a police complaint in this regard. Jio had also said its subscriber data "is safe and maintained with highest level of security".

A 35-year-old computer science dropout from Rajasthan has been arrested for his alleged involvement in the case.

The accused has been identified by his nickname 'Imran Chippa' and was arrested from Churu district in Rajasthan.

A resident of Sujangarh town, Chhipa had made the website Magicapk. He claimed to provide Jio user data through his website, police said.

A Maharashtra Cyber Police senior officer confirmed that some leak had occurred but declined to share details about the quantum of the breach.

It's been two weeks after the Goods and Services Tax was rolled out on the intervening night of June 30 -July 1.

The GST was meant to simplify the whole taxation system, however, it has created some confusion among traders and people as to how it will be calculated on some services.

The Ministry of Finance has since taken to Twitter to clarify some of the doubts over GST and its applicability. Here are some of the goods and services that won't attract GST.

GST on sale of old gold jewellery by individuals: If you hold jewellery and want to sell it to any gold shop, it won't come under GST.

Revenue Secretary Hasmukh Adhia had said that 'purchase of old gold jewellery by a jeweller from a consumer will be subject to GST at the rate of 3 percent under reverse charge mechanism.'

"Accordingly, the sale of old jewellery by an individual to a jeweller will not attract the provisions of Section 9(4) and jeweller will not be liable to pay tax under reverse charge mechanism on such purchases," it said.

Microsoft has agreed to buy Israeli cloud computing firm Cloudyn, giving Infosys one of the best exits from it corporate venture capital fund.

Infosys return could not be computed because the company has not disclosed how much of Cloudyn it owns.

last August, Infosys picked up a minority stake in Cloudyn for $4 million. Media reports suggested that Microsft is paying between $50-$70 million for the company. Infosys $500 million fund primarily tasked with helping the company access innovative solutions created by startups, and not necessarily exits.

Cloudyn has raised $20.5 million in four rounds from its investors, startup data site Crunchbase said. Cloudyn's other investors include Carmel Ventures, RD seed and Titanium Investments , according to Crunchbase.

The Smartphone was unveiled  globally on Tuesday, and has several improvements over its predecessor, the OnePlus 3T.

 As the OnePlus 6 8GB RAM/ 128GB  storage variant has been priced at Rs. 37,999 as it will be available only in Midnight Black.

          GST may raise price of flats nearing completion

If you are paying for your house in installments to the builder you may end up paying 12% GST on payments due from july 1 onwards,instead of 4.5% service tax that you paid on installments till June 30.

Similarly, if you plan to buy a house after July 1 in a project that in a project that is complete or nearing completion, you will, have to pay tax at the rate of 12% on the entire amount.

Builders claim that the 7.5% increase(12%-4.5%) in tax post GST is because they will not be able to claim any credit for taxes paid on inputs bought before July 1.

For projects that are nearing completion or complete, most buyers would have paid 90-to-95% of the price, whether they are on a construction-linked or a down payment plan.

GST rates:Movie tickets below Rs 100 , pickles mustard sauce  to cost less; Council lowers tax on 66 items

Tax rates on certain kitchen items pickles and mustard sauce,as well as movie tickets costings up to Rs 100 has been lowered as the centre and states today reduced levies on 66 items.

movie tickets costing Rs 100 and below will now attract 18 percent tax,as against 28 percent proposed earlier,while those above Rs 100 will continue to attract 28 percent GST.

Kitchen uses items like pickles,mustard sauce and Morabba will attract 12 percent GST,as against 18 percent proposed earlier.Also tax rates on Cashew nuts have been cut to 5 percent from 12 per cent

GST on Insulin and Agarbatti has also been lowered to 5 percent,while school bags will attract tax of 18 percent.

Infosys denies founders looking to sell their stake,share prices fall



Infosys on Friday denied a media report that the founders of india's second-biggest software services exporter were looking to sell their entire 12.75 per cent stake in the company .

The India times today had reported the founders were exploring such a sale.citing people familiar with the developments ,although it carried a denial from one founder,Narayan Murthy.

Infosys "has no information on any such development," the company said in a statement,adding that the "speculation has already been categorically by the promoters."

Infosys shares closed 0.82 per cent lower,after earlier falling as much as 3.5 per cent.

Infosys founders,' led by Mr murthy ,have publicly accused the company's board of lapses in corporate governance,forcing the company to appoint a co-chairman to the board and a$2 billion payout to shareholders in the financial year to march 2018.

                                   RBI to limit of consumers causes by transaction fraud



The Reserve Bank of India(RBI) will soon list down to limit the liabilities of consumers for unauthorized Electronoc Transactions in their bank accounts.

The central bank will  soon come down hard on lenders that charge customers exorbitant fees,Deputy Governer SS Mundra said on Tuesday.

"Banks have been granted the autonomy to fix fees and charges,but it should not be used to deny services to the common man".

"we are seeing this worrying trend in some organisations.imposition of unserious charges will be one of the three main focus-areas during the annual supervisory cycle this year"Mundra said.

In a draft circular released in august 2016,the central bank had said that if a customer's involvement is not clearly established,customer liability will be limited to Rs 5000 provided it is reported within seven days.
