Nagaland: Three terrorists killed,Army officers lost his life in encounter

An Army officer and three militants were killed in an encounter in Nagaland,the force said on Wednesday

The encounter on Tuesday night at Tijit near Lappa of Mon District,Nearly 340 km north of the state capital of Kohima also left three soldiers injured.unconfirmed reports said a civilian had been killed but the army refused to confirm.

The militants were believed to be from the National socialist council of Nagaland(KHAPLANG) and the united liberation of Asom(independent).

The incident took place around 10 pm.based on information about movement of terrorists,the officer and his team to the area when they were ambushed and an encounter ensued,"army spokesperson lt col chiranjeet konwer told over phone from Kohima.

"The encounter is over and combing operations are underway,"konwer said.
