Police Officer killed by Mob at outside Srinagar's Jamia Masjid

An officer of the Jammu and Kashmir police was brutally beaten to death by a mob outside the Jamia Masjid in state capital Srinagar during congregational prayers at the mosque in the old city late on Thursday evening.two people have been arrested in the incident.

Deputy Superintendent Mohammad Ayub pandith's colleagues wept bitterly on Friday morning as they paid tribute to him at a wreath ceremony  , Which is attended by the Chief minister Mehbooba Mufti.

Mufti said." there cant be a more shameful incident than this where one cop who is trying to perform his duty is killed."

DSP pandith was posted on security duty outside the mosque, when he was attacked by a mob of more than 200 people yesterday,senior police officer Shesh Paul Vaid said.Three of the accused have been identified and two have been arrested.
