Yogi Adityanath scraps Akhilesh Yadav's 20 per cent minority quota scheme

The Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh has proposed to scrap 20 per cent quota for minority sections in as many as 85 schemes launched during the previous Samajwadi Party government.

The government in Uttar pardesh has decided to annul yet another decision of the previous Samajwadi party government.the Yogi government will end minority quota under various schemes launched by former chief minister Akhilesh Yadav.

Around 20 per cent quota was fixed for 85 schemes during the Samajwadi Party regime.

The move is inline with the Bhartiya Janta Party's election announcement that the party will end caste based appeasement in uttar pradesh.

"We are in the process of studying all the schemes.We will continue those which we consider are important but scrap others," deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya said.
